  • The Hanged-Man positively stands for a necessary and uncontrollable wait or process of learning. It describes a moment of stagnation that invites us to look at what has been achieved and what is to come. But it also shows powerlessness and inaction.

Than you so much! The reading was just what I was hoping for. We need to leave in peace with ourselves and others. Life is too short .

This card could indicate you need to stop having low self-esteem and start acting in your life. I usually see it as an invitation to take control of things again.

A time to turn within. Give up the struggle and move forward. In vulnerability we find strength. We are to see something with "new eyes." No more fighting against a current or false sacrificing just go with the flow of life. Sacrafice only in the sense of letting go the fantasy or want that is not serving a purpose so that your heart can be open to receive what you are meant to have that is better for you.

Looks like a yoga position to me. New perspective, new flow of energy in another direction. Like the blood flow goes to the head of this man, your interest may go toward something else, evolve naturally.

    Hanged man by Dragonfly
When the hanged man gives up ego-wants, he discovers his higher, true self. Faith in a higher power and purpose. When you stop fighting, and 'give up'/let go of some wish or need, the reward appears in the form of what you actually needed. Give up resistance and go with the flow. Say 'yes' to your life as it is. Also, keywords patience, time lapse.

At first glance, this card is pretty scary and looks like bad news. After all, to hang someone is a way to put someone to death. During middle age, people were often hanged upside down and die, I believe, from too much blood pressure in their head. Well, relax, this card is at least 50% positive and I am quite always happy to see it in my spread. It's often useful to stop your inner turmoil and change the way you look at things like this hanged-man who is staring at us upside down. Of course, it could be interpreted as a sign of prejudice in case this hanged-man is stuck in this position for good.
